Understanding the Rent + Fee Preview
The Rent + Fee Preview lets you preview the final distributed prices, including estimated fees. Since fees can vary by guest, channel, length of stay, and other fees involved, this tool provides a directional view of what guests are likely to see across OTAs once fees are applied.
This setting estimates your total asking rate by combining:
Wheelhouse's nightly rent; plus
Your average fee load, which you can set using your own percentage value or have it auto-updated based on your recent bookings.
It helps you evaluate pricing by providing a closer estimate of real guest-facing prices across the OTAs.
How Rent + Fee Preview Works
Wheelhouse analyzes recent bookings to calculate the average fee load. Once the average fee load is determined, the percentagewill apply to your nightly rates to estimate the final distributed price.
Notes:
Fee estimates are directional and not exact.
Actual fees may vary depending on the guest, channel, stay details, and other factors.
The preview is designed for comparison and strategy, not for billing accuracy.
Detecting Your Fees
Wheelhouse now shows the average fee load, calculated from recent bookings. This reflects the typical fees added on top of the nightly rates when guests book your listings.
By clicking the Apply button, you can view pricing with fees included.
Note:
This preview reflects historical fee behavior and may not match every individual booking scenario.
Auto-Updating Fees
Over time, fee structures can change, and we can automatically keep your fee estimates updated.
If you enable auto-update, we will:
Continuously monitor recent bookings.
Update the fee percentage on a weekly basis.
Keep the fee percentage updated without manual updates.
To enable the auto-update feature, simply click the toggle to switch it on.
Set Your Own Fee Percentage
If you’d like to set your own fee percentage or preview how your pricing would look with a different fee load, you can input a percentage value to see the results.
Previewing in the Pricing Chart
Once fees are applied, you can visualize your final prices directly in the Pricing Chart, which is the in-context chart.
To add the Rent + Fee Preview price:
On any listing-level view, click on Series at the top right of the in-context chart.
Click the Select Series option.
Then, click Rent + Fee Preview (Current Settings) to add this new line series to your chart.
Review the new line pricing in your chart by hovering your mouse over the in-context chart.

Compare your preview against market rates.
Previewing vs. Dynamic Sets
Or, you can overlay your Dynamic Sets rates against your Preview.
With this preview overlayed in your chart, you can compare the rent + fees preview against:
Base rent: Prices (Current Settings).
Market price.
Your comps, built with Dynamic Sets.
