In addition to the default system reports, Wheelhouse allows you to create fully custom reports that fit your specific workflow and analysis needs.
You can create a report in two ways:
From scratch: Start with a blank layout and build your report step by step.
By duplicating an existing report: Copy a system or previously saved report and make adjustments such as changing data sources, adding or removing widgets, or modifying layouts.
To create a report from scratch:
Click the “+ New Report” button from the Reporting Dashboard.
Begin setting up your report by adding widgets such as charts, tables, KPIs, or notes.
Configure each widget by selecting its type, data source, metric, years, and comparison series.
Drag and arrange widgets on the grid to design your preferred layout.
Once you’re satisfied with your setup, click Save Report.
Enter a report name when prompted and confirm to save your custom report.
To create a report by duplicating an existing one:
From the Reporting Dashboard, locate the report you want to copy.
Click the three horizontal dots (⋯) next to the report name.
Select Duplicate from the menu options.
In the pop-up window, enter a new name and update the description if desired.
Click Duplicate Report to create a copy.
Open your new report and make any edits—such as updating data sources, adding or removing widgets, or adjusting comparisons.
Each report is fully customizable, allowing you to visualize data exactly the way you want. Whether you’re tracking nightly revenue, occupancy trends, or market comparisons, custom reports help you build flexible, data-rich dashboards without needing external tools.
Note: You can clone any existing report to use its structure as a starting point—perfect for creating similar reports with different date points, comparison sets, widgets, or many more.
Select your data sources
The first thing you'll do is select which data sources you'd like to view in the report. This applies when viewing existing reports or creating new reports. Usually this requires selecting the primary listing(s). Sometimes you'll also need to select a market and a dynamic set if the widgets in the report use them as the control or as a comparison.
In the first version of reports, we do not save the data sources to a report. A report is only comprised of the widgets and the layout.
And so, every time you visit a report you need to select the applicable data sources along with the global time period.
For snapshots, the data sources and global time period are saved.
If you have feedback on this please reach out and help us better understand how you would like to use Reports.
Customize the charts and layouts
Reports are made up of cards that display your data in different ways—KPIs, charts, tables, or notes. You can rearrange cards, adjust sizing, and apply themes to create layouts that fit your story. You can also add notes and summaries to tie your insights together.
Add new charts by clicking "Add / Edit Widgets". This will open a sidebar with all of the configuration options you need.
In the sidebar you can choose the options for the new widget.

When ready, you simply drag and drop the widgets onto your report. You can resize a chart by pulling from the bottom right corner.
Once you are happy with the report, you can save it by clicking on the Save report in the top right of the toolbar.
Understand chart data
Every report is powered by data from three key sources: your listings, the market, and any dynamic sets you’ve created. Each source provides unique perspectives on performance and can be analyzed side by side. Choose which metrics to display and how to compare them to uncover deeper insights.
Within each chart, you can select which data source is the control.
You can choose to define a new time period for this widget, or it will use the global time period you've set at the top of the report.
You can also choose to compare this control to its relative periods (last / next). And you can also choose to compare this control to another data source (market, dynamic set, comparison listings).

Filtering
We provide two types of filters. This allows you to gain deeper insights and conduct more precise analysis, uncover trends, and get the actionable data that's key to your decision-making.
Listing filters
We provide the Wheelhouse filter system for both primary and comparison listing data sources.
You have to be in edit mode to save any changes to a report.
Time Periods & Comparisons
Reports support flexible time periods so you can focus on exactly the data you need. Set a global date range for the full report or override it at the card level. Use dynamic ranges like “past 6 months” or compare performance year-over-year to identify trends and opportunities.
