Wheelhouse’s Events & Seasons Configuration makes it easier than ever to manage custom pricing strategies for your most important dates—whether they’re one-time events or recurring seasonal patterns.

This feature offers greater flexibility, precision, and scalability across your listings.

What are Events & Seasons?

Events & Seasons are custom date ranges that let you define and control how your pricing, minimum stays, and other rules behave.

You can set them up as:

  • One-Time Events — For occasions like upcoming festivals or local happenings.

  • Multi-Year Events — For holidays or events that span across multiple years.

  • Recurring Seasons — For events or high, low, or shoulder seasons that repeat annually.

You can configure these under either Listing Settings or Portfolio SettingsEvents & Seasons.

How to create an Event or Season

  1. Go to Settings → Events & Seasons

  2. Click Add Event or Add Season

  3. Give it a name and assign one or more date ranges.

Note:

  • Seasons cannot overlap with other Seasons

  • Events can overlap with Seasons or other Events

This setup gives you flexibility—for example, you can have a “Winter Season” rule and overlay a “Christmas Week” Event with stricter settings.

How do I apply them to pricing and stay rules?

This is where the feature becomes powerful.

Once you’ve created an Event or Season, it will appear as a sub-rule across all relevant settings:

  • Want to increase the Minimum Price for all major Events?

  • Need a 7-night Minimum Stay during Christmas Week?

  • Want to apply Historical Anchoring during the High Season?

Just go into any setting (e.g., Min Price, Base Price, Minimum Stay) and apply the rule for your chosen Event or Season.

The example below shows what happens when trying to apply a 4-night minimum to the Christmas Week Event.

Customizable Base Prices for each Event or Season

Previously, with Rule-Based Seasonality, you could only adjust the base price by month. Now, you can assign a unique Base Price for each Event or Season, giving you full control over your rate strategy at a more granular level.

For example, when you have multiple Event and Season rules, you can add them as a rule in Seasonality and then apply a percentage amount you’d like.

Can I create Events and Seasons across multiple listings?

Yes, from the Portfolio page view. By selecting multiple listings at once—either through a set of filters you’ve created or by manually choosing them—you can then click the Settings button.

The right pane will appear, and from there you can add your Event or Season rule.

What are some examples you can use this for?

  • Setting up a market with an Event or Season?

  • Heard of a soon-to-be-announced event that will impact a particular neighborhood?

  • Want to create a seasonal Minimum Stay rule for your larger homes?

This works whether you’re managing 5 or over 1,000 listings.

Additional Functionality Notes:

Your current setup still works just fine.

  • When you create a new Event or Season, it will interact seamlessly with your existing Sub-Rules.

  • If you currently have rule-based Seasonality set up with month-specific pricing, adding an Event or Season will/can overlay your existing monthly rules.

    • You can also remove your Monthly Rules and rely solely on Seasonal/Event rules.

You can stack Events on top of Seasons.

  • As noted above, Events can stack on Seasons. For example, you could create a Winter Ski Season and quickly set up a 4-night Minimum Stay policy.

  • You can create a Winter Holiday Week that overlaps with that season and enforces another Minimum Stay, like 7 nights.

  • Events can even stack on other Events—for example, for a major event where you want to apply rules to both the week and the weekend.

  • Seasons cannot overlap with—or stack on—another season.

You can copy and paste Events & Seasons.

This is especially useful for any new listing you’re onboarding.

If you’d like to check out our dedicated article on copying settings, please take a look at the Copy Settings article.

  • Navigate to your Portfolio Settings page.

  • Select a listing you’d like to copy from, and in the right pane, click the Copy Settings button.

  • Select the Events and Seasons setting, then follow the next steps to complete the copying process.

Note:

You can even copy Sub-Rules (e.g., “Min Stays for New Year’s Eve”) as well.
