What It Means
No overnight price cliffs. With Stepped, the price drops by the full difference on the day a new rule starts. With Smooth, that change is spread across the days between your rules.
Your rules still land where you set them. Smooth doesn't change your discounts or premiums. Each rule still reaches its full amount on its own day.
Nothing changes unless you switch it on. Every listing, including new ones, starts on Stepped.
How It Works
Between two rules, Smooth changes the adjustment by an equal amount each day. In the example, the discount moves 2.5% a day, from -10% at 7 days out to -20% at 3 days out.
With a single rule, the adjustment ramps in instead of starting all at once.
With Seasons and Events, Smooth also eases between your default rules and your Season and Event rules. Overrides are never smoothed and always stay stepped.
